PATRONAL FEAST IN SHIDERTY
On September 20, the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Shiderty celebrated its patronal feast. The festive Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Apostolic Administrator for Catholics of the Byzantine Rite in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, Mitred Archpriest Vasyl Hovera.
Concelebrating with him were the parish priest of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, Father Alexander Adomenas; the parish priest of the Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Karaganda, Father Dmytro Roman Kozak; and the parish priest of the Parish of the Holy Chief Apostles Peter and Paul in Pavlodar, Father Yaroslav Golovchuk.
Numerous pilgrims from Astana, Karaganda, Pavlodar and Ekibastuz attended the service. The liturgical hymns were sung by the choir of the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Pavlodar, directed by Tatyana Golovchuk.
After the Liturgy, the Lesser Blessing of Water was celebrated. Father Vasyl then sprinkled everyone present with holy water.
Following the service, Father Vasyl congratulated Father Yaroslav Golovchuk on 20 years of priestly ministry and presented him with a certificate of appreciation from the Apostolic Administration.
Father Alexander, the parish priest, thanked everyone who shared in the parish’s celebration. The festivities concluded with a celebratory meal in the parish house.
