On July 19, festive celebrations dedicated to the patronal feast of the Parish of Saint Elijah the Prophet were held in the city of Zhezkazgan.

The festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Latin Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zhezkazgan. The liturgy was presided over by Fr. Yaroslav Holovchuk, pastor of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Pavlodar. He was concelebrated by Fr. Andriy Nedostup, pastor of the Parish of Saint Elijah the Prophet, and Fr. Oleksandr Fush, pastor of the Latin Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

The celebration was attended by parishioners of both the Latin and Byzantine parishes, as well as pilgrims from Karaganda and Pavlodar. The guest of honor was Dulat Rashidovich Tulegenov, Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Ulytau Region.

At the conclusion of the liturgy, Fr. Andriy Nedostup thanked everyone present for the joy of praying and celebrating together. He expressed his special gratitude to Fr. Oleksandr Fush for making it possible to celebrate the patronal feast in the Latin church, and to Fr. Yaroslav Holovchuk and his family, whose beautiful singing enriched the liturgy and who had traveled a long distance to share in the joy of the celebration.

Mr. Dulat Rashidovich Tulegenov then addressed the faithful with words of greeting. He congratulated everyone on the patronal feast and, to commemorate his visit, presented a copy of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which entered into force on July 1, 2026.

Following the liturgy, the celebration continued with a festive communal meal, to which all participants of the liturgy were invited.
