SUMMER CAMP IN SHIDERTY

From August 3 to 9, 2026, the summer camp “Holidays with God,” organized by the Parish of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Karaganda, took place at the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the settlement of Shiderty.

Throughout the week, the children stayed in the parish house and took part in a rich spiritual, educational, and recreational program. Each day began with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.

A special part of the program was a series of talks entitled “Navigator for Life,” led by the parish priest, Fr. Alexander Adоmеnas. During these meetings, the participants reflected on important directions in life, faith, and their relationship with God and with others.

In addition to the spiritual program, the children took part in intellectual and team games, as well as outdoor activities on the sports field located on the parish grounds.

One of the highlights of the final day was a large quest game. A special adventure called “The Search for the Treasure of the Pirate Black Tide” was organized for the younger group. The older participants actively helped prepare the quest and turned the treasure hunt into a real adventure for the younger children.

“Holidays with God” concluded with a large campfire. Children and adults gathered together to share their impressions of the past week, sing songs and dance, as well as grill sausages and vegetables over the open fire.

“Holidays with God” gave the children an opportunity to spend their summer days in the atmosphere of parish life, combining recreation and games with a life of faith.
