On June 20, 2026, the Parish of Blessed Oleksa Zarytskyi in Almaty was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Viktor Maiko.

The distinguished guest was welcomed by the parish priest, Father Oleh Halushko, and numerous parishioners. A prayer service for peace in Ukraine was held in the church, during which the faithful prayed for an end to the war, for peace, for the protection of the Ukrainian people, and for God’s blessing upon Ukraine.

After the service, Mr. Ambassador addressed the parishioners with words of greeting and sincerely thanked the community for their warm welcome, prayerful support, and preservation of their spiritual connection with Ukraine.

The gathering continued in an informal atmosphere over a shared meal and tea. The parishioners had the opportunity to speak with the guest and share their thoughts.
