DIPLOMATIC RECEPTION AT THE EMBASSY OF UKRAINE

On August 24, a solemn reception marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.
The event was attended by priests of the Apostolic Administration for the faithful of the Byzantine Rite in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, led by the Apostolic Administrator, Father Vasyl Hovera. Among the guests were also the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Archbishop George Panamthundil, and Archbishop-Metropolitan Tomasz Peta of the Archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Astana.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Viktor Maiko, warmly welcomed the clergy and thanked them for attending the reception. He also expressed his appreciation for the joint projects carried out by the Embassy of Ukraine in Kazakhstan and the Apostolic Administration and voiced his confidence in their continued fruitful cooperation.
The reception was also attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and numerous public figures.
